You Are Breathing Out Your Breakfast (Biology Level 8)
Description
We're going to follow that breakfast out of you. First we find the door it leaves by, which is your lungs. Then we find where it was turned into gas in the first place, and that's a different process with a different name from breathing.
Puffing after PE isn't you 'needing air'. It's your cells turning food into carbon dioxide faster, and your lungs racing to throw it out. The listener can now say it in one line: breathing moves the gases, respiration makes the energy. They can write the word equation too: glucose + oxygen → carbon dioxide + water.
