Recording an Audiobook in a Closet

Published 1 day, 1 hour ago
Description

I wrote a Jack the Ripper book, then narrated the whole audiobook myself in my closet. This episode is the full how-to: the gear (all in, under $500), turning a closet into a "poor man's studio," recording a reference clip for every character, my pre-recording routine (hot shower, Throat Coat with honey, room-temp water, and a green apple), cutting 30–40 minutes of takes down to a 9-minute chapter, mastering to ACX's specs with DaVinci Resolve and Claude, and getting it live on Audible.Next episode: I record the prologue live, mistakes and all.The Ripper: Heist to Hunted is on Audible, Kindle, and paperback.
