Parade Massacres: Three Attacks, Three Communities
Description
Parades are supposed to bring people together. Families line the streets, music plays, and communities celebrate. But in three horrifying cases, those celebrations turned into mass-casualty attacks.
This week on All the Damn Crime, we're covering the 2022 Highland Park Fourth of July parade shooting, where Robert Crimo III killed seven people and wounded dozens; the 2016 Berlin Christmas Market attack, where Anis Amri drove a hijacked truck into a crowded market; and the 2015 Oklahoma State University Homecoming parade attack, where Adacia Chambers drove into the crowd, killing four people and injuring dozens.
Three attacks. Three communities forever changed. We break down what happened, who was responsible, the investigations, and the questions these tragedies left behind.
Because sometimes the most frightening thing about a public celebration is how quickly everything can change.
