In the Sandra Birchmore case, the question is what investigators did with the evidence they collected and what they never compared. A state lab identified male DNA on a strap recovered from her apartment in 2021. A federal court filing says investigators did not get Matthew Farwell’s reference DNA then. Testimony also described two unrecorded Farwell interviews, including one in a school parking lot.
