Agenda Contingency Plans!

Agenda Contingency Plans!

Description

Tonight I sat down with Survival Steve for a wide-ranging conversation that moved from council contingency planning and emergency evacuation scenarios into the bigger question of how ordinary people prepare themselves for disruption. We talked about grab bags, bug-out plans, shelter options, food, water, clothing, navigation, radios, first-aid kit, and the value of rehearsing practical skills before you ever need them. Steve also walked us through a very hands-on look at the sort of gear he keeps ready, why mindset matters as much as kit, and how a bit of forward planning can make all the difference when everyone else is flapping.

Along the way, we opened out into a broader discussion about freedom, responsibility, natural law, the failures of top-down authority, and why so many people end up waiting for systems to save them instead of becoming more self-reliant. With plenty of lively questions from the chat, we also touched on self-defence, wilderness know-how, camping rough, and the books, channels and communities that have shaped Steve’s thinking. In short, it was one of those classic Fockham Hall evenings where philosophy, preparedness, survival skills and a bloody good laugh all ended up in the same room.
