The Buzz: Huntress expands Ingram Micro relationship to Canada, Fortinet urges urgent updates, Cycode grows Canadian business
Description
Today’s headline news for Canadian IT solution providers:
Huntress expands Ingram Micro distribution relationship into Canada
Huntress is extending its existing distribution relationship with Ingram Micro into Canada, creating another route for Canadian managed service providers and solution providers to access the cybersecurity vendor’s portfolio.
The expansion also includes Latin America and builds on the companies’ existing US go-to-market relationship.
The development is particularly relevant as Huntress continues expanding beyond its original endpoint security focus into a broader set of managed cybersecurity capabilities for MSPs.
For Canadian partners, the relationship could provide additional purchasing and procurement options through an established distributor.
The companies have not yet provided ChannelBuzz.ca with detailed information about Canadian pricing, product availability or the commercial structure of the expanded relationship.
ChannelBuzz.ca is also pursuing a joint conversation with Huntress and Ingram Micro about the Canadian opportunity and the evolution of their partnership.
Fortinet urges immediate security updates across major products
Fortinet is calling on customers and partners to prioritize a coordinated set of security-hardening updates released Thursday for FortiOS, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
The updates follow recent releases for FortiMail and FortiAuthenticator.
Fortinet says the releases address critical and high-severity vulnerabilities, including issues identified through its frontier AI-assisted security testing program.
The company is urging organizations to prioritize internet-facing systems and treat the updates as an urgent security change rather than routine maintenance.
Recommended steps include inventorying affected systems, scheduling maintenance windows, backing up configurations and restricting administrative access where immediate upgrades aren’t possible.
Detailed public vulnerability advisories are expected November 10.
