Patriots LOSS Gives Buffalo Bills HUGE AFC East Advantage! Is New England OVERRATED?!
Description
The Buffalo Bills just won their bye week without playing a single snap! The New England Patriots lost to the Chicago Bears 30-24 on Thursday Night Football, giving Josh Allen and Buffalo a massive opportunity to take control of the AFC East.
With the Bills sitting at 5-1 and New England falling to 4-3, Buffalo now holds a 1.5-game lead in the division standings.
But can the Bills take advantage when they return from their bye week against the Baltimore Ravens?
In today's Bills HIT, we break down why New England's loss could have major implications for the AFC East race, whether Drake Maye and the Patriots are legitimate contenders, and why Buffalo's December rematch against New England could look completely different.
Drake Maye threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns against Chicago while adding a rushing touchdown, but another costly red-zone interception raised questions about his decision-making in critical moments.
New England's defense also struggled, allowing Chicago to force 16 missed tackles while the Patriots converted just two of seven third-down opportunities offensively.
Could those weaknesses become major problems when New England faces James Cook, Josh Allen and the Bills again?
We also discuss Buffalo's upcoming matchup with Baltimore, the importance of getting DJ Moore healthy, Keon Coleman's continued development and the defensive adjustments Jim Leonhard needs to make.
The Patriots already defeated Buffalo once this season, but does New England have what it takes to challenge the Bills over an entire season?
And could Buffalo's bye week end up being one of the most important weeks of its AFC East championship pursuit?
