#194-198 - Donny Takes the Upgrade, Adam Completes the 30 Hour Challenge & Jake's Back Using AI on Tinder
Published 1 week, 5 days ago
Description
One upgrade on the flight home from Bangkok, two people, and Donny grabbed it with both bloody hands. The whole town's had an opinion all week, and to finish, Donny's girlfriend finally comes on air to give her side. Plus Jake's caught using ChatGPT on Tinder again, Adam calls three cafes with the world's worst excuse for standing someone up, and Adam's ex had a freezer full of something other than ice cream.
- Three Things for the council: Townsville tuk tuks, the Cook Islands' unfortunate "COK" cap, and a bouncer for the baggage carousel.
- Adam looks back on the 30-hour Breaking Point Challenge for the Cure, and gives a shout-out to Aaron from the yellow team.
- Jake's back on the apps and back on ChatGPT. We read his messages, and his "you may have seen me" opener.
- Blame Game: Donny takes the only upgrade at Bangkok airport and leaves his girlfriend in economy. The callers decide if that was unreasonable.
- Stood up for jiu-jitsu: the viral voice-note excuse, and Adam tries it on the actual cafe.
- Donny's turning 30 and has never jump-started a car. Neither has Adam. Sparks fly.
- Cafe call number two: same excuse, a much busier cafe, and a lot less sympathy.
- Donny on Dave, the bloke who turned up to his trivia night alone and became part of the team. A reminder to put yourself out there.
- The plan to save Jake: a live on-air date with the boys coaching in his ear. Kirsty, a 30-year-old teacher, puts her hand up.
- The tiebreaker: cafe number three hears the jiu-jitsu excuse.
- Dating expert Sera Bossa tells Jake to ditch the AI and back his own banter.
- The Daily Dribble: a taxidermy bust reminds Adam of the ex with a freezer full of dead animals.
- The first-class saga so far: the whole town has an opinion, and one caller reckons the airline's to blame.
- The showdown: Donny's girlfriend calls in to give her side of it, and Donny ends up on one knee.
