Sometimes when life is at its hardest, the best we can do is to trust things will get better.
Psalm 23 doesn’t deny our dark valleys or the presence of our enemies.
But it still proclaims that goodness and mercy (ḥesed חֶסֶד) follow us everywhere we go for as long as we live.
Not just follow, but the Hebrew also means chase and pursue.
And in our hard times our primary job is to hang on until the good things chase us down.
