Episode Details

What happens when you refuse to let go of a childhood dream?

In this episode of 9–5 Exit Plan, I sit down with Christopher Kaufman, a creative artist, storyteller, and composer who has spent years developing Tales of the Ocean City, an expansive fantasy series that combines vivid storytelling with cinematic music, narration, and sound design.

Christopher shares his journey from writing illustrated fantasy stories at nine years old to pursuing music and eventually returning to the creative universe that had always stayed with him.

We discuss imagination, artistic persistence, independent creativity, the challenges of bringing a long-term vision to life, and why storytelling remains important in a world increasingly focused on productivity and practical concerns.

We also explore how creators can combine different talents, experiment with new formats, and build meaningful creative projects without losing sight of their original vision.

Whether you’re an aspiring writer, musician, entrepreneur, or someone who has put a personal dream aside, this conversation will encourage you to reconnect with your creativity and consider what you could build if you gave your imagination room to grow.
