It may be too early to say we’re so glad it’s Christmas Vacation, but we are lucky to welcome an actress from that classic movie today on Attendance Bias. Today’s guest is none other than Ellen Latzen, who you’ve almost certainly seen as Ruby Sue in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, as well as Ellen, the young daughter of Michael Douglas and Anne Archer in the 1987 thriller, Fatal Attraction. She’s currently looking to get back into the movie business, and she just happens to be a big Phish fan.

For today’s episode, Ellen and I speak about her acting career, her efforts to get back into the industry, and of course, her special show for today: July 26, 2013 at The Gorge! A show at The Gorge obviously includes grandeur and novelty, but most importantly, it was also a birthday show for Ellen!

What I enjoyed most about this conversation, in addition to the Phish nerding out, is that Ellen and I disagreed on a number of Phish topics–which songs are bathroom songs, are there truly any songs that every fan likes, and more. I love meeting fans that have tastes and opinions contrary to my assumptions, and combined with the beautiful synergy of Ellen’s experiences in this show (I’ll let her describe it–I don’t want to give anything away), this was a conversation I’ll remember for a long time.

There’s so much more, but even talking to Ellen made me shit bricks…excuse me, shit rocks. Let’s hear it all from her, as we go back to The Gorge on July 26, 2013.
