Episode Details

Jeff Howe and CJ Vogel examine how Texas can survive the potential loss of Colin Simmons, the nation’s leading pass rusher and the Longhorns’ most irreplaceable defender. Simmons leads Texas with 10.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss and 26 pressures, leaving Will Muschamp without a simple one-for-one replacement. Five-star freshman Richard Wesley could receive the biggest opportunity after flashing elite physical tools, violent finishing ability and the swagger needed to energize the defense.

The guys also explain why Lance Jackson must turn his near-misses into sacks and how Raheem Biles, Brad Spence, Maraad Watson and Hero Kanu could help replace Simmons’ production collectively. With Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss thriving against the blitz, Texas must generate pressure without losing containment—and every opportunity to bring him down has to count.
