Cybersecurity has a complexity problem. And for managed service providers already struggling with limited resources and growing customer expectations, that complexity may be making it harder to deliver the protection businesses need.

That’s one of the themes emerging from Kaseya’s new 2026 Cybersecurity Report: Building Security That Survives Human Error, which surveyed more than 1,100 MSPs and IT professionals worldwide.

The research finds that 68 per cent of respondents identify human error as their biggest cybersecurity concern. But it also highlights the operational challenges created by security itself, including the time required to manage , maintain controls, and support users.

In this episode of In The Channel, Dave Baggett, senior vice president and general manager of Kaseya’s Security Suite business, joins us to discuss why stronger cybersecurity may increasingly depend on making security easier to manage.

Baggett argues that organizations need to design security around the reality that people make mistakes, rather than expecting users to behave perfectly. That means combining effective controls with systems that reduce the consequences of errors and simplify the work required to maintain protection.

The conversation also explores how AI could reshape security management, moving MSPs toward natural-language interfaces, more integrated security tools, and automated assistance with and threat analysis. Baggett explains how Kaseya’s approach to connected cybersecurity fits into that vision.

Beyond the technology, Baggett discusses the challenges MSPs face in convincing customers to invest proactively in cybersecurity, the role of compliance in driving investment, and what Kaseya’s research reveals about the security practices of commercially successful MSPs.

The result is a discussion about making cybersecurity more effective, more manageable, and ultimately more sustainable for MSPs and their customers.
