The Signal Brief: A bank is now selling you an AI operating system.
Description
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, please send me a witch voice note.
The TopCat AI Signal Brief
The company that spent the last year telling your clients to invest heavily in AI just put its own AI use on a leash. Accenture told employees it will now centrally fund just twenty-nine dollars a month per person for Claude Enterprise. The memo — first reported by 404 Media — took effect October 1st.
Here's why it matters: some employees, especially developers using Claude Code, were burning through five hundred to a thousand dollars a month. Anything past twenty-nine now has to be charged to a specific project budget. Accenture says it's not a hard cap on access — it's a funding structure — but licenses are being reviewed and reassigned, and at least one worker lost access entirely.
