यद्यपि महाराजः अभिनवसेनः समीचीनतया शासनं करोति स्म तथापि सः केषुचित् विषयेषु हठशीलः आसीत् । सः तिन्त्रिणीप्रियः आसीत् । अतः राज्ये यत्र यत्र निम्बवृक्षाः आसन् तान् सर्वान् कर्तयित्वा तेषां स्थाने तिन्त्रिणीवृक्षान् आरोपितवान् । गच्छता कालेन बहवः जनाः कुष्ठरोगपीडिताः जाताः । महाराजः अपि कुष्ठरोगपीडितः जातः । अन्यदेशात् आगतः वैद्य रोगस्य कारणं ज्ञातवान् किन्तु महाराजभयात् किमपि न अवदत् । तत्स्थाने सः केनोपायेन रोगस्य कारणं किम् इति दर्शयति ।

King Abhinavasena ruled well, though he was stubborn in some matters. He loved tamarind trees, so he ordered all neem trees in the kingdom to be cut and replaced with tamarind. Over time, many people developed leprosy, and the king himself was afflicted. A physician from another land discovered the cause but, fearing the king, did not speak directly. Instead, he devised a way to show the king the true reason for the disease.
