Episode 33 - I Feel My Pulse Oscillating
Description
Great news music fans: not only are Chris and David back with more great songs, but they have a new guest accompanying them! Joining them for this outing is a mate of David's from the comedy circuit: it's acclaimed comedian and writer Lizzy Lenco!
In this episode, Lizzy introduces the boys to something that has been a part of her own life: the concept of 'torch songs'. These are pieces of music that are used to try and bring people out of their darkest moments and back to a better place, whether that's playing them to someone in a coma, using them to help people with brain injuries or dementia, someone listening when they are suffering from depression, or something else entirely. Torch songs are testament to the power that music really wields.
Everyone has chosen examples of tracks they could consider to be personal torch songs and these range from acts such as The Sisters of Mercy, Slash and Primal Scream to many others, including a very obscure band called V8 Pack!
There's also an anecdote about attacking Jason Momoa, which apparently was accidental......
On a serious note, please do look out for each other and take care of yourselves. We hope our show has been able to bring you some kind of joy but if you are ever in need of help, please talk to someone. It might sound like a cliché, but that's because it works. Remember, there's always someone who's willing to listen and you deserve the best.
