The Philadelphia Phillies shake up their coaching staff as Don Mattingly seeks a fresh start, raising questions about accountability and leadership. Can Mattingly’s claim that it never felt like “his team” justify a season of underwhelming results, and will assembling his own staff be the answer to the Phillies' postseason ambitions?

Connor Thomas examines the firings of hitting coach Kevin Long and infield coach Bobby Dickerson, the controversial hiring of former Mets manager Carlos Mendoza as third base coach, and what these moves mean for clubhouse chemistry. Insights include the real impact of positional coaches on stars like Bryce Harper and Trea Turner, the fan base’s reaction to staff changes, and how managerial experience might influence the upcoming MLB season. Will the Phillies’ new-look staff elevate the team, or are deeper issues at play?
