Do you have a question, submit it here.

Wisdom can make us humble, or it can make us unbearable. We open James 3 with a blunt question: if we say we’re wise, can anyone tell by the way we live, talk, and treat people when we’re frustrated or disagreed with?

We trace the difference between worldly wisdom and godly wisdom, and we get specific about what poisons a church from the inside out: bitter jealousy, selfish ambition, boasting, and “being right” with the wrong motives. James doesn’t soften the warning. When our faith talk is loud but our hearts are driven by ego, the result is disorder, division, and real spiritual damage. We also talk about why timing and gentleness matter, using Job’s friends as a cautionary example of truth delivered without wisdom.

Then we lean into the hopeful side of the passage: wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. That overlaps with the fruit of the Spirit and gives us a practical framework for Christian living, church unity, and everyday relationships. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re growing in spiritual maturity, this is a great place to measure progress.

Listen, share it with a friend who values thoughtful faith, and if it challenges you, leave a rating or review so more people can find the show. What’s one area where you want your actions to match your words more closely?
