Episode Details

The painting arrived in a wooden crate with no return address. A portrait of a woman in a black dress, her face turned away, her hands folded in her lap. The seller's description said "unknown artist, antique frame." What it didn't say was that the woman's hands move when you're not looking. That her face turns slightly toward you each time you pass. That the background changes from a garden to a room you recognize. I tried to throw it away. It came back. I tried to burn it. The flames went out. Now the woman is facing me. And she's smiling.
