Before Creation Began: God Already Chose You

Season 19 Episode 7 Published 16 hours ago
Description

Send us your prayer requests and testimonies here.

Before the first star was lit, before the first word was spoken, before Creation began, God already had you in mind. That is the heartbeat of Ephesians, a letter written from a prison cell yet overflowing with freedom, belonging, and hope. Come take the longer road with us, listening to all six chapters in one unhurried flow, just as its first hearers once received it. Whether you need comfort, a place to belong, or a quiet moment to remember who you are in Christ, you are welcome here.

What You'll Experience in This Episode

  • The complete letter. All six chapters of Ephesians, from the first greeting to the final blessing.
  • A slower, gentler pace. Space to breathe between grace, unity, and spiritual strength.
  • Scripture as a place you inhabit. A letter read aloud, the way it was first shared.
  • From riches to armor. The whole road between the riches of God's grace and the armor of God.

Key Themes (for Reflection)

  • Chosen and loved. Seen, wanted, and adopted before the foundation of the world (Chapter 1).
  • Dead made alive. Grace is a gift that lifts us and seats us with Christ (Chapter 2).
  • The wall that fell. Strangers become family in Christ (Chapter 2).
  • Love beyond measure. Its breadth, length, height, and depth surpass understanding (Chapter 3).
  • One body, one hope. Unity in the Spirit and a new way of living (Chapter 4).
  • Children of light. Love and honesty in daily life (Chapters 4–5).
  • Standing firm. Strength from the Lord and the armor He provides (Chapter 6).

Scripture Reading

The Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians: Chapters 1–6 (complete)

Memorable Images from the Story

  • A prisoner writing about freedom. Paul, chained for Christ, pens a letter full of hope.
  • The dead rising. "You were dead… but God."
  • A wall coming down. Division giving way to one household.
  • A seat in the heavenly places. Not striving at the door, but welcomed to sit.
  • A sleeper awakened. "Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
  • Armor for the weary. Truth, righteousness, faith, and the Spirit's sword, given for standing, not striving.

Gentle Reflection Questions

  1. What does it stir in you to hear that you were chosen before Creation began?
  2. Where in your life do you most need to hear "but God"?
  3. Is there a wall in your family, community, or heart that you long to see come down?
  4. How could you walk as a child of light this week, in one small, ordinary moment?

Prayer (Closing)

Gracious Father,

Thank You for the love that was woven for us before Creation began. Where we have felt far away, draw us near. Where there are walls, bring them down. Where we are weary, lift us and seat us with You.

Open the eyes of our hearts to the hope to which You have called us. Root us in love, and when the day is hard, help us stand, clothed in Your truth, Your peace, and Your Word.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
