Alex Golden is joined by David Dearing to recap the Indiana Pacers' preseason finale against the Milwaukee Bucks, and even though the games don't count yet, the rivalry between these two teams is still VERY much alive!
The night featured plenty of familiar hostility, starting with Myles Turner receiving relentless boos from Pacers fans during his third trip back to Gainbridge Fieldhouse since leaving Indiana last offseason.
Alex and David discuss the reception Turner received, the emotions surrounding his departure and why Pacers fans clearly haven't forgotten how things ended.
And it didn't take long for things to get physical!
Less than a minute into the game, Ryan Rollins delivered a cheap shot to Tyrese Haliburton, adding another chapter to the heated history between Indiana and Milwaukee.
Despite significant changes to the Bucks' roster, some things apparently never change. The guys discuss the incident, the continuing rivalry and why these matchups still bring out so much emotion.
Beyond the drama, there was plenty of actual basketball to discuss!
Indiana's starters looked strong once again, giving Pacers fans more encouraging signs heading into the regular season. Alex and David break down what stood out, how the starting group is coming together and their biggest takeaways from the final preseason tune-up.
And one final disclaimer...
Alex recorded this episode after being awake for nearly 20 hours, so if he accidentally mixed up a name, stat or basketball fact along the way, we're blaming the lack of sleep. 😂
Turner boos, Haliburton drama, an impressive starting unit and a potentially sleep-deprived podcast host.
It's all on today's Setting The Pace!
