This program will discuss Gender Affirming Care. Learners will understand the difference between Sex and Gender and learn about disparities that transgender and gender diverse persons face in healthcare. Using 2 patient cases, the presenters will walk through how to begin hormone therapy for gender affirmation. This will include a brief overview of the risks, benefits, side effects and prescribing considerations for both feminizing and masculinizing cross-sex hormone therapy.
