And we may be tempted to adopt the tactics of those the psalmist describes as “bloodthirsty and deceitful.”
But instead, we trust in the abundance of God’s steadfast love (ḥesed, חֶסֶד) to protect and shield us, make our paths straight, and fill us with joy along the journey.
