The Green Party Identity Crisis
Published 1 week, 5 days ago
Description
On October 4, 2026, at the Green Party conference in Brighton, members voted on a motion about Zionism and Palestine. The motion passed by 1,022 votes to 813. It set party policy treating Zionism as a form of racism, defined as an ideology supporting an ethnonationalist Jewish state in historic Palestine to the exclusion or domination of the non-Jewish population, and it supported a single democratic Palestinian state, the right of return, and Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, as the row spilled over into councils.
