National Organisation of Parents in Education in Namibia founder and interim president Paulus Hawanga reflects on systemic gaps in child protection and mental health support, following the arrests made in the cases of Ingrid Maarsdorp and Roswinds Fabianu.
Hawanga criticises the tendency of authorities to be reactive after tragedies occur. He urges the education ministry and line ministries to proactively engage parents, community organisations and faith-based groups to prevent violence against children.
