Episode Details

This episode recounts the unsolved West Mesa murders, a chilling case involving the discovery of eleven female victims buried in the New Mexico desert. A dog walker first stumbled upon the remains in 2009, sparking an investigation into disappearances that occurred years prior. Most of the victims were Hispanic women with ties to sex work, a factor that experts suggest may have contributed to the lack of public urgency and police progress. While Albuquerque detectives identified potential suspects like Joseph Blea and Lorenzo Montoya, insufficient evidence has prevented a formal conviction. Consequently, the identity of the "Bone Collector" remains a mystery, leaving a significant reward unclaimed and the families without legal closure.
