From Chukchee Mythology (1910) by Waldemar Bogoras — Part I of The Jesup North Pacific Expedition, Vol. VIII (Memoirs of the American Museum of Natural History). Public domain. The Reindeer-Breeder and the Aiwan was told by Viyento the Blind; The Orphan, Object-of-Loathing, and The Visitor by Rikewgi — Maritime Chukchi narrators recorded at Mariinsky Post, 1900. Fresh English rendering by KacheliTV; The Reindeer-Breeder and the Aiwan is heard with the book's graphic passages softened and its closing killing left untold, and Object-of-Loathing with one night scene rendered as an accepted departure, per the shelf's screening ledger. Northern Tales gathers the Chukchi, Siberian Eskimo, Koryak, Yukaghir and Even tales from Bogoras's Jesup North Pacific Expedition volumes, in the books' own order.
