Episode Details

We told you Sunday that big changes were coming to WVU football following lengthy coaching discussions. Now Zac Alley says defensive personnel changes are expected—and starting jobs are open. On today’s Locked On West Virginia, Mountaineer Paul breaks down the comments that back up our Sunday report. Alley addresses insufficient effort against Arizona, confusion over assignments, the search for WVU’s best eleven, and the communication challenges of calling plays from the booth. Then we examine where changes could happen: the cornerback rotation, Matt Sieg and JaCorey Thomas at safety, linebacker competition, and opportunities for younger defensive players. What’s already reflected on the depth chart, and what could come next? Can a defensive shakeup help West Virginia turn its season around against Cincinnati?
