Does Judge Not Mean Never Judge? Matthew 7:1-5 (KJV) | Sermon on the Mount

Season 3 Episode 30 Published 22 hours ago
Description
Does "judge not" mean Christians should never judge? Matthew 7:1-5 (KJV): judge not, that ye be not judged, and the mote and the beam.
Sermon on the Mount Pt 30: Matt Hepner and TopLobsta take Jesus' words on judging verse by verse, and where the Bible says we must judge.

We start with the Greek word for judge, krino, and read verse 1 alongside verses 6 and 7 (it is written, it is also written, Matthew 4). Then: with what measure ye mete (Luke 6:35-38), the woman taken in adultery (John 8:1-11), you condemn yourself (Romans 2:1-6) and vengeance is mine (Romans 12:19). Next, where Christians must judge: inside the church (1 Corinthians 5, 1 Timothy 6), ourselves before communion (1 Corinthians 11) and righteous judgment (John 7:24). We close on the mote and the beam and Isaiah's "woe is me." Next week picks up at verse 6.
