Become the Kind of Person Opportunity Looks For | Jim Rohn Motivation
Description
Now that might sound unfair at first. Like I'm telling you some people are just lucky and some people aren't, and there's nothing you can do about it. But that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying the opposite.

Most people think opportunity is a moment. A phone call, a chance meeting, a lucky break. But opportunity is not a moment. Opportunity is a recognition. Somebody, somewhere, looks at you and sees a quality, a readiness, a way of carrying yourself, and thinks, that's the one. And in that instant, the door opens.
Here is the truth: the door doesn't change you. You have to be changed before the door. Opportunity doesn't hand you a new character on the way in. It reveals the character you already brought with you.
This seminar walks through five qualities you must understand about becoming the kind of person opportunity looks for.

THE CHARACTER OF AN OWNER
Do not hear five separate things here. Hear one thing described five ways. Excellence, reliability, hunger, problem-solving, and responsibility are not five different traits — they are five expressions of a single underlying character. The character of a person who has decided to be the cause of their life rather than the effect of it. The one who owns the outcome does excellent work. The one who owns the outcome keeps their word. The one who keeps their word refuses to stagnate. It is all one root, and everything else flows from it.
THE GAP IS THE PRICE, NOT THE PROOF IT FAILS
There is a stretch of time when you do the right thing and no one notices. When you keep every promise and no one rewards you. That gap is where most people quit — they give it a month and conclude it doesn't work. But the gap is not evidence of failure. The gap is where you prove, to yourself first, that this is who you actually are and not a costume you wore for a reward that hadn't arrived yet.
WHY CHASERS NEVER CATCH IT
The people who chase opportunity are always maneuvering, always positioning, and somehow the right place keeps moving. The people who stop chasing and start becoming don't have to catch anything. Opportunity catches them. A person of real character is rare and visible, and the world is always hunting for such a person to hand its best chances to.
WHAT TO DO TONIGHT
Do the next task as if the person who decides your future is watching — because you never know who is.
Keep one small promise you were about to let slide.
Spend an hour building a skill your current role does not require.
See a problem today and bring the first step of a solution instead of a complaint.
Release your grip on the reward and let the work be its own.
