Description
A kind old man's beloved pet sparrow eats his wife's rice-paste by mistake, and the scolding that follows drives the little bird from the house forever. The old man's search through the bamboo groves leads to a welcome beyond imagining — a feast, a sparrow's dance, and a choice between two boxes. And when his greedy wife hurries down the same path to claim the big box for herself, it teaches her a lesson she will never forget.
