Description
Getting paid to exercise at work is an idea being studied by Australian researchers. A new trial involving healthcare workers at a Sydney hospital aims to look at the health outcomes as well as productivity gains.

Cardiovascular and other health outcomes will be measured among workers participating in an Australian trial on the impact of doing exercise while at work. Dr Faraz Pathan at the Heart Research Institute is leading the trial, which will include workers at Nepean Hospital in outer Western Sydney.

In this episode:
  • How an Australian trial is planning to measure the impacts of paid exercise breaks
  • The costs of physical inactivity at a society level
  • Could the idea be adopted more broadly throughout Australia?
