Six weeks into the 2026 college football season, preseason No. 2 Oregon is unranked and Wake Forest is in the AP Top 25. Mike Wade, Mark Franzen and Darren Steadman hand out the Mike Blitz midseason progress report: three good surprises and three bad surprises each.
In this episode:
- Breaking news: James Madison is leaving the Sun Belt for the American, and why Mike thinks the move puts JMU in control of its own playoff path
- Parlay check: last week's ticket hit 6 of 8 legs, plus the road-favorite lesson from the two misses
- The good: the Big 12 logjam, unbeaten UCLA under Bob Chesney (and the news that Nico Iamaleava is reportedly out for the season), Bill Belichick's first win over a ranked team, Iowa's two-quarterback setup, Jeremiah Smith's Heisman run, and Kentucky's back-to-back overtime wins on two-point tries
- The bad: the ACC behind Miami, Oregon's fall, the Texas offense and Arch Manning, Tennessee's quarterback problem, Alabama somehow getting better at QB, and the Akron Zips
