October 11 - 17: NINE NIGHTS

The new Moon in Virgo on October 10 asked us to pause and slow down. On October 11th the Moon begins to wax, kicking off the annual celebration called Navaratri, nine nights ten days of focus on the Divine Mother where we explore the process of how good triumphs over evil.

The frenzy in Libra continues, with retrograde Venus making full combustion with the Sun and continuing to slide toward the early degrees of her own air sign. Both Mars from Cancer and Rahu from Aquarius continue to add their energy to the duo in Libra, causing an amplified version of busy, active, and edgy for the week ahead. 

The Sun spends this week in Virgo, finishing up the Saturn opposition, with the advice being to stay humble going forward, as the activity brewing in Libra will welcome the Sun on Saturday. There are overwhelming undercurrents that will demand we rebalance in favor of collective security over selfish gain. Jupiter continues to guide Mars’ frustrated power, laying the groundwork for the deeper shifts and changes to come in November and December when the nodes shift signs.

Overall, with the waxing Moon and the momentum building in Libra, it could be tempting this week to go too far, too fast. Look for safe and organic ways to advance when the flow carries you, but don’t be tempted to risk losing your steering if things get rolling too fast. The brakes this week still come from retrograde Saturn in Pisces, thigh deep and checking the foundations, and Mars debilitated in Cancer, another show of power mired in water, but buoyed by Jupiter’s positive influence.
