Description
On Monday, October 12, 2026, a tragic fatality occurred when a visitor was ejected from and subsequently fell from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia. This fatal incident transpired shortly before 4:00 PM EDT at the amusement park situated in Cobb County. Authorities documented that one individual perished while four additional visitors sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses aboard the ride reported a distressing occurrence, describing how the individual became completely separated from his seat during the coaster's operation.
According to multiple passengers who provided accounts to a popular  Atlanta news outlet, the individual appeared to move laterally through the air before making contact with the roller coaster structure and vehicles repeatedly during his descent. His remains ultimately came to rest upon the roof of an adjacent haunted house facility.

Other passengers observed that park personnel had inspected their safety restraints prior to the ride's departure, though the cause of the restraint malfunction and the mechanism of ejection remain undetermined.
Following this tragedy, the 200-foot-tall hypercoaster ceased operations, resulting in numerous passengers being stranded at an elevated position. Emergency personnel and park staff conducted an evacuation of the immobilized riders in groups of four via a substantial emergency staircase.

The Cobb County Police Department's Major Crimes Unit has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the factors contributing to the accident. Six Flags representatives issued a formal statement conveying profound sorrow and offering condolences to the deceased's family, affirming their complete cooperation with local law enforcement authorities.

Since its establishment in 1967, Six Flags Over Georgia has documented a minimum of nine fatalities and multiple significant safety incidents affecting both guests and personnel.
