The Trial of Jesus: His Blood Be On Us
Description
After the Savior was judged by Pontius Pilate within the confines of the palace of Herod, Pilate again brought Jesus before the Jewish leaders. As Pilate exclaimed Christ's innocence, the Jewish leaders asked that his blood be upon them. Ironically, the word "atone" means to cover, meaning that they were, in essence, asking that the Savior's blood be upon them, or cover them.
