Corn Nation Overreaction: Huskers Suffer First Loss, Fall to Hoosiers by Three
Description
On Corn Nation Overreaction, there may actually be something to overreact to.
Nebraska was leading the defending national champions for three quarters and change, but Indiana scored the game's final fourteen points to stay unbeaten, 20-17.
The Hoosiers scored two touchdowns over five offensive plays, including a one-play, 75-yard score, to upend the upset hopes of the Huskers. But for three plus quarters, Nebraska was the better team.
People will decry this game. They will moan and complain. There will be accusations of "moral victories" and there will those who will still find something to complain about. But make no mistake…this is progress.
The Huskers stepped up against a top-ten program and then didn't piss down their leg. They stood ready for the challenge. Nebraska may be 0-31 against ranked opponents going back to 2016, and we all thought Saturday was going to be THE DAY.
But it wasn't meant to be.
The streak continues. For now.
Jake and Greg will break down the loss to the reigning champions, and they look forward to your comments as well.
