Between 1974 and 1991, Dennis Rader murdered ten people in Wichita, Kansas, taunting police for years under the name BTK before going silent for over a decade. The case remained unsolved for thirty-one years until a floppy disk Rader sent to a local television station in February 2005 carried metadata linking him directly to Christ Lutheran Church, where he served as congregation president. Investigators still want to know what Rader concealed during the thirteen silent years between 1991 and 2004, and whether anyone who knew him before 2005 noticed something they never reported.
