Published 14 hours ago
Description
***The Recipes discussed in this podcast episode are at the end of these shownotes!* Hi Mama,
  • Are you already overwhelmed by everything that comes with postpartum life and wondering how you’re possibly going to keep everyone fed when you’re exhausted, emotional, and running on very little sleep?
  • Have you ever reached the end of a long newborn day, someone asks “What’s for dinner?” and you realize that figuring out one more thing feels completely impossible?
  • What if preparing just a few simple meals ahead of time could give your future self one less decision, one less burden, and one little reminder that someone is taking care of you, too?
In this episode, we're talking about why postpartum freezer meals can be such a powerful support tool, five easy recipes you can prepare ahead of time, and how taking care of your future self can make a bigger difference than you realize. I share from my own postpartum depression journey and how overwhelming even basic tasks like making dinner could become when I was dealing with anxiety, sadness, exhaustion, and emotional overload. We’ll talk about why freezer meals can help reduce decision fatigue and why I think of them as a gift from the past version of yourself to the future version of yourself. Then I’m sharing five practical, comforting freezer meals: chicken enchilada casserole, turkey meatball pasta bake, slow cooker chicken fajitas, breakfast egg muffin cups, and creamy chicken and wild rice soup. We’ll talk about why each one works so well for postpartum life, from easy reheating and family-friendly ingredients to meals you can throw into the slow cooker or grab quickly on a busy morning. I’ll also share three simple tips for making freezer meals happen without creating another overwhelming project: you don’t need to make twenty meals, you should choose foods your family actually likes, and accepting help is part of healing. Because postpartum support isn’t about doing everything perfectly. Sometimes it looks like opening your freezer and realizing, “I already took care of dinner.” Mama, your baby needs you, your family needs you, but you need care, too. Preparing food for yourself is not selfish. Accepting help is not weakness. And making life a little easier where you can is wisdom. You are worth taking care of, your needs matter, and you deserve support in this season, too. You've Got This Mama!
