Trish Kendall Speaks Episode 132 - Messages of Mattering

Published 1 day, 10 hours ago
Description

About this Episode:

There’s a difference between thanking someone for what they did and telling them how they matter.

I recently ordered a book I’d been wanting to read, Messages of Mattering: The Grace Note Method for Cultivating Meaning, Connection, and Impact by @Andrea Driessen.

I ordered it because I was preparing for a client who wanted their leadership team to focus on expressing appreciation, and I knew I would get some nuggets and inspiration from Andrea.

Well, I read the whole book on a flight back to Boson. I think it took me an hour! And it gave me so much inspiration and ideas. I appreciated her book so much that I bought another copy as a special gift of gratitude for my client!

Andrea’s “Grace Notes,” method is about expressing our appreciation—not simply for what someone has done, but for who they are.

There’s a difference between:

Thank you for what you did.

and

I want you to know how you matter to me.

When was the last time you told someone not just that you appreciated something they did, but how they matter to you?

About Trish:

To give love is a choice. And making that choice is how we create true success in our lives, yet for countless reasons, it can be the hardest choice to make.

Trish inspires you to make that choice each day.

Trish made five critical choices on her journey from the pit of despair—childhood sexual abuse, drug addiction and near suicide—to the peak of success: embracing boundless love. And you can, too.
