Monday With Meghan: Issues From Last Year Remain In Avalanche Loss to the Maple Leafs
Description
Toronto Maple Leafs overwhelm Colorado Avalanche with a 6-3 victory, raising critical questions around Colorado's goaltending. Can Mackenzie Blackwood seize the starter role, or will the Avalanche revisit last season’s persistent goalie concerns? Chris Micieli, Meghan Angley, and Zach Pearson break down Blackwood’s struggles, the team’s defensive lapses, and Coach Jared Bednar’s expectations as Avalanche fans speculate about the future between the pipes.
Special teams woes continue, with Colorado’s power play running cold after a hot start and the penalty kill showing uncharacteristic cracks. The hosts spotlight the need for a confidence boost and “greasy” goals, while offering an in-depth update on AHL prospects like Gavin Brindley and Taylor Makar with the Colorado Eagles. Can the Avalanche fix their lingering issues ahead of a back-to-back against the Dallas Stars, or are deeper changes on the horizon?
