The Mirage Men: Disinformation, UFO Hoaxes, and Military Secrets
Episode 613
Published 1 week ago
Description
This episode unravels the 1980s Albuquerque saga where businessman Paul Bennewitz’s radio “alien” signals sparked a government‑backed misinformation campaign—dubbed the Mirage Men—that blended fabricated military documents, doctored transmissions, and media amplification. We examine how secrecy, press hype, and skeptical witnesses converged to create one of UFO lore’s most enduring myths—and why its echoes still surface today.
