When Fitting In Costs Your Faith | Revelation 2:12–17
Description
Revelation 2:12-17 describes a church that stayed faithful through persecution and began accepting compromise around the dinner table. Jesus' letter to Pergamum asks where belonging has become more important to us than obedience.
Antipas had been killed, and the church still held to Jesus' name. Yet some were following teaching that made idolatry and sexual immorality acceptable. We often recognize a direct threat to our faith sooner than we recognize the small permissions we've learned to give ourselves.
This Church Reviews sermon follows Jesus' warning and his invitation to repent. His promises of hidden manna and a new name offer a future worth trusting when faithfulness costs us a place at somebody else's table.
