Description
AOTP EP:27 Tonight's guest Lissalani writes, "In African American Southern folklore, a child born with a caul, sometimes called caul-born or born with the veil, is believed to be marked from birth." Originally from the historic town of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Lissalani was born with the veil—which, according to folklore, allows her to see spirits from a young age. She is here to share some of those encounters, discuss the burden of carrying this ability, and touch on the historical and oftentimes dark history of Vicksburg, Mississippi, all of which inspired her debut novel, Veil, the first in a series, releasing in early December 2026.
