Description
This radio drama uses AI-generated writing, voices, music, sound effects and artwork. All spoken performances in this edition use ElevenLabs V4.
Who would shoot a quiet hotel waiter dead beside his pregnant wife — and why has she scrawled across the newspaper report, “This is not my husband”?
🎭 Directed Edition — every role cast for this story and every line performed with full voice direction.
A new edition of “The Bracken Halt Affair”, rewritten from the ground up.
London, July 1973. Baker Street is wilting in a heat wave and Holmes is quarrelling with a carriage clock when a letter arrives straight off the Oslo flight. A young wife, heavily pregnant, writes that her husband was shot dead beside her in Norway. He was a waiter at a lakeside hotel, killed at a bus stop as the couple came home from the cinema. In the little town by the lake, Holmes and Watson find a cot with one rail still unfixed, a savings tin emptied by a loan to the dead man's oldest friend, and a friend who swears he slept the whole night through. A protective hotel manageress, a Scottish guest over for the fishing, and an inspector with foreigners in his cells and no appetite for a scandal all have something to say about the quiet waiter — and the police already have a theory that fits every piece.
From the series Sherlock Holmes — The New Cases: a real crime of the 1970s reimagined as a classic Sherlock Holmes radio mystery, performed by a full multi-voice AI cast, with sound design and a light score that stays under the story.
Loosely inspired by a real event of 1973. All names, characters, dialogue and events are fictional; the words, actions, motives and private lives of every character — including the murdered man and his widow, their friends, the hotel's staff and guests, the foreign visitors, the investigators and the police — are invented for drama, and so is the solution of the mystery. This is a work of fiction, not a factual account of any real person or institution. No real person is portrayed, and no real individual, organisation, government or security service is accused of any act shown here.
Setting: London and a lakeside town in Norway — July 1973.
Writer v2.7 — the studio's newest writing process: the plot is planned and checked by an AI story editor, then each act is drafted with the whole story in view and edited before a word is voiced — and then cast and performed with our new casting and voice direction.
