Ohio State 45, Maryland 16: 3 Things We Learned From A Rainy Buckeyes Win

Published 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Description
The Ohio State Buckeyes played a sloppy game, including seven first-half penalties and a couple of crucial turnovers, but beat lowly Maryland, 45-16 in a constant rain inside Ohio Stadium on Saturday.

Ryan Day's team was playing without five starters, including OL Austin Siereveld and Phillip Daniels, WR Devin McCuin and Brandon Inniss, and LB Christian Alliegro, but controlled the game from start to finish, outgaining the Terrapins, 449-146, and holding the Terps' offense to just one drive of more than 22 yards.

In this episode of the Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning podcast, Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeInsiders.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss:
  • That sloppy first half of penalties, and how they got things (mostly) straightened out after the half.
  • Another week of issues in pass protection, including a crucial missed blitz pickup that led to a pick-six.
  • How the running game continues to churn out yardage with RB Bo Jackson and Ja'Kobi Jackson
