Choose Us Out Men

Exodus 17:9

Why does conflict follow so soon after God’s gracious provision? Reflecting on Israel’s battle with Amalek in Exodus 17, Joseph Hall considers God’s purpose in trials, the need for courage and the duties of faithful leaders. He reminds us that our spiritual enemies must be resisted, and that neither strength nor victory can be found apart from God.
