New Book Show How the Automobile Changed St. Louis From Corvette Factories to Route 66
Published 3 weeks, 1 day ago
Description
When you think about St. Louis and automobiles, you might think of Route 66, the old GM plant or maybe the Corvette. But St. Louis has a much deeper automotive history. At one point, the city was home to dozens of automobile manufacturers, and the car changed everything from the roads we traveled to the restaurants where we ate and even the way we spent our free time.
Thomas Eyssell is the co-author of the new book, “The Automobile in St. Louis: An Illustrated Timeline,” which traces more than a century of that history.
