Mega Edition: Vicky White And Her Brazen Plan To Help Her Lover Escape Prison (10/8/26)
Published 3 hours ago
Description
Vicky White was the assistant director of corrections at the Lauderdale County Jail in Alabama who became the subject of a nationwide manhunt in 2022 after disappearing with inmate Casey White, a capital murder suspect who was awaiting trial. Authorities said Vicky White told jail staff she was taking Casey White to a courthouse appointment and then leaving for a medical appointment of her own, but investigators later determined there was no scheduled court appearance and no legitimate reason for her to transport him alone. The pair abandoned the patrol vehicle and fled the state, triggering an 11-day search across several states. Investigators eventually concluded that Vicky White had deliberately helped Casey White escape rather than being taken hostage.
Prosecutors accused Vicky White of facilitating Casey White’s escape, supplying the logistics needed to flee and using her position inside the jail to circumvent normal security procedures. Investigators also uncovered evidence that the two had developed a secret relationship before the escape, including phone contact while Casey White was incarcerated. Vicky White was charged with permitting or facilitating escape and later faced additional charges connected to the breakout. The manhunt ended in Evansville, Indiana, after police pursued the pair and their vehicle crashed; Vicky White suffered a gunshot wound that authorities said was self-inflicted and died shortly afterward, while Casey White was taken back into custody.
