Jesus doesn’t heal like a celebrity putting on a show. He heals like a King proving He has the right to rule. We walk through Luke 6 as Jesus comes down to a level place, gathers His newly appointed apostles, a wave of disciples, and a massive crowd, then does three unmistakable things: He teaches with direct, inerrant authority, He heals with power that flows from His presence, and He delivers people from unclean spirits with effortless command.

Along the way, we press on a question that can change how you read the Gospels: what if the main point of the miracles isn’t “sickness is the issue,” but “Jesus is the Messiah”? The healings become credentials of kingly authority, a small preview of what the coming kingdom of God will be like when sorrow, disability, pain, and oppression cannot coexist with His reign. That also helps us name the difference between Christ’s ministry and modern healing theatrics that spotlight a few and blame the rest.

Then we shift into the Sermon on the Mount themes in Luke’s shorter notes and camp out on the first Beatitude: “Blessed are you who are poor.” We connect Luke’s language with “poor in spirit” and talk honestly about spiritual bankruptcy, the collapse of self-trust, and salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
